Emergency Sites in Vancouver
In the event of a major disaster, the Park Board through its volunteer-based Emergency Social Services Program will coordinate food, shelter, first aid and other services to victims through its 23 Community Centres. The neighborhood Community Centers have been provisionally identified as shelter or muster locations for this purpose, with schools augmenting them if necessary. After a disaster has struck they are mobilized to provide emotional and physical well being to those effected by the disaster.
