Located in the extreme south eastern area of the city, Champlain Heights Community Centre is located on Champlain Park (10.67 hectares) near East 54th Avenue and Kerr Road.

All ages can find a wide selection of recreation programs here where cultural diversity is celebrated. Opened in 1981, this facility, along with the community school, serve as the epicenter of the City-planned housing development which was designed to include a diversity of housing types such as social housing, apartments, single family dwellings and condominiums.

Featured here are the popular fitness centre, squash and racquetball courts, and licensed out of school daycare. Numerous specialty clubs and programs include Guiding and Scouting Troops, Chinese School, St. John Ambulance Cadets, Karate and Taekwondo.

Many other agencies are affiliated with the centre such as Community Health Nurses, the Developmental Disabilities Association and Community Living to name but a few.

Not far from the community centre is Everett Crowley Park, a nearly 40 hectare reserve. The Champlain Heights Community Association is the chief steward of this unique refuge which once served as a City landfill. The thriving vegetation and wildlife at Everett Crowley Park are a testament to nature's ability to heal and this community's dedication to facilitating that ongoing process.
